Teaching
My interdisciplinary philosophy of education centers on fostering learner agency, with a focus on empowering historically, persistently, and systemically marginalized students. I prioritize pedagogical approaches that help students take control of their learning and overcome barriers.
Through my teaching I examine how learner agency and choice shape learning contexts and assessment strategies, with a focus on co-creating learning through the inclusion of lived experience. I aim to advance media literacy and the democratization of knowledge to expand agency, while analyzing how different learning environments influence the expression of agency. I also emphasize the critical use of technology across ADST, STEM, and medical education to support meaningful, agentic learning.
